Merchant Protection Agency
We already have the Consumer Protection Agency.
An organization tasked with defending customers from dishonest or unfair commercial practices is a consumer protection agency. Additionally, it can support ensuring that companies operate lawfully and in accordance with legislation.
Who's protecting America's Merchants?
The United States needs a Merchant Protection Agency now more than ever for a number of reasons. For instance:
Increase in Online Shopping: As online shopping grows, there may be more potential for shady practices including identity theft, phishing scams, and phony websites. Consumers may benefit from the protection provided by a merchant protection agency against such practices.
Consumer Data Protection: There have been a number of high-profile data breaches in recent years that have revealed sensitive information about consumers, including names, addresses, and credit card numbers.
Unfair practices and predatory vendor networks that price control and inflate expenses to the detriment of our local merchants.
